The Ossolineum's collections are only accessible on site, but systematically more and more objects are being made available on the Internet without additional fees and without the need to register, most notably in the Lower Silesia Digital Library (DBC). This consortium was established in 2006 on the initiative of the Wroclaw University of Technology and the National Ossolinski Institute.
The Ossolineum makes available in the DBC mainly special collections, which are subject to special protection. The largest collection consists of early printed books - all incunabula, the majority of polonica (books related to Poland) from the 16th to 18th centuries, as well as 18th-century foreign prints of particular editorial value (e.g. richly illustrated). The DBC also holds the most important literary autographs (including Krasicki, Mickiewicz, Słowacki, Fredro, Sienkiewicz, Reymont and Witkacy), important historical documents and medieval manuscripts. Valuable editions of books published after 1801 are gradually being added.
